The Chakra System. How To Work With Them And The Benefits Of Each

Chakras, what are they and why do I work with them?

I first heard about the chakra system around 10 years ago, I was completely fascinated.

I had always been a believer in holistic health, it makes complete sense to me that every cell in our body is connected and you can’t look at one issue in isolation. But my mind was blown when I understood we had energy vortexes, that I could feel energetically, showing me a map of my body.

We have 7 main chakras, however I work with 8 chakras, as I find including the navel very useful.  Each one not only relates to certain organs and aspects of the physical body, but also to our emotions, and beliefs.

Working holistically with the chakras, has fast forwarded my healing journey significantly. I am a big fan of counselling, and psychotherapy, however it was energy healing, that allowed for huge shifts in my life. And I see similar shifts in the lives of my clients.

Over the next week or so, I am going to post about each of the 8 chakras I work with, sharing information about each one, release commands and affirmations.

I hope these will help you understand the chakras a little more.

The crown chakra sits on the top of our head, it can be seen as a flower, with many petals, a healthy crown chakra is bright and feels soft.

Here are some of the benefits of a  healthy crown chakra:

  • A good memory
  • A connection to all beings and nature
  • Able to intuit more easily
  • Understand our life purpose
  • More energy

When our crown chakra is blocked or dirty, it can make life much harder than it needs to be, we can be confused about what we think and believe, we can get caught up with other people’s beliefs and emotions, and this can leave us feeling drained and exhausted.

We can also feel very disconnected from others, even when in close and intimate relationships.

Tip

  • Breathe in
  • Say the release command
  • Breath out and imagine the breath is leaving the whole head area
  • Breathe in
  • Say the affirmation
  • Expand the energy through the head area as you breathe out

I’m not sure you’re meant to have favourite chakras, but I love the Ajna chakra! A healthy ajna chakra really helps guide your life in the right direction. The ajna chakra understands the big picture stuff, it’s our road map for where we want to go in life.  It is our connection to our soul, our higher self, and our intuition.

When we have a healthy ajna chakra, we may experience little (or big) miracles in our life. Things like knowing which street will have a parking spot on it

  • Popping to the exact right shop, to find the thing you’ve been after and it being on sale
  • Knowing the phone will ring and who it will be moments before it does
  • Arriving to meet your friend exactly the same time they arrive
  • Being in the right place at the right time doing the right thing

When our ajna chakra isn’t functioning well, we may find we are out of sync with the life we are meant to be living, this may mean we get a argh moment, one that is designed to put our life back on track.  Working with an energy healer can assist you in your journey.  If you’d like to know more about my work check the link in my bio and select work with me.

Looking after our throat chakra is really important, not only is our throat vital in protecting us from infections, and virus’s it also is responsible for our communication, and a good clean throat chakra will help us be organised, whether that is having tidy Tupperware cupboards (a favourite of mine) or being punctual,

A funny thing I noticed over the years that after any big energetic growth (be it a retreat or healing from a master) I would find that over the next week, I would be decluttering and sorting out my house, it was like every time my throat chakra got an upgrade my home did too!

If we often are around negative talk, speak badly about others or are spoken to in a harsh way, our throat chakra is going to cop t, and if we have a lot of gung in our throat chakra we are more likely to attract this type of communication.

Who doesn’t want a healthy happy heart chakra?

Have you ever noticed that there is a correlation between people with heart issues and their ability to love unconditionally, this is no coincidence, the heart chakra looks after the physical heart and also love.

We can store old heartache, grief and sadness in our heart chakra, which prevents it from being big and open, and can prevent us from loving freely.  It’s very common when working with clients to intuit a lot of old grief, sometimes from past lifetimes in the heart chakra, and when this is cleared up and out clients report feeling lighter, happier and much more joyful.

Try saying the release commands and affirmations 3 times and see if your heart feels lighter.

How wonderful life is when our solar plexus shines like the sun, a healthy happy solar plexus literally gives off a beautiful glow, but so many of us, particularly in the west have a lot of rubbish sitting in our solar plexus’s.  The solar plexus is the seat of our self-worth, and whether we have arrogance or low self-esteem or a mixture of both, or any imbalance around this, we tend to have sluggish dull solar plexus chakras.

Some things that cause an imbalance in the Solar Plexus:

  • Feeling not good enough
  • Comparing
  • Showing off
  • Bullying
  • Name calling
  • Trauma
  • Feeling you have to prove your self
  • Being attached to external symbols to validate self-worth (job, Car relationship etc)

Working on the Solar Plexus chakra is such a game changer, it can transform our relationship with self and therefore with others

Self-Love, Acceptance, and Humility are key to your healing journey, so why not get your Chakras cleaned and give yourself a helping hand

How convenient that we have a chakra right at the navel

Our navel chakra helps us with power and digestion

When we are in flow with our life, digesting all that comes our way our navel chakra is happy and healthy.

Over time we can build up cords of attachment with people, places and situations, which don’t serve us and drain our energy, in my experience the navel chakra is a hot bed of attachments. Cleaning these and releasing ourselves and others is so empowering, and in most cases improves the relationship we have cut cords from.

These cords hold certain beliefs and power imbalances in place, these will be unique for all of us, but there are common themes

Giving power away, whether consciously or unconsciously

Many female clients I work with over the years have given power away to men in their life, their fathers, teachers, partners, it’s not a conscious choice, but over time these small submissions of power build up, until patterns start to form.  Cleaning up these energy patterns is so empowering.

If you are struggling with digestion problems or issues around boundaries, try working with these release commands and affirmations for a week or 2 and see how your life changes.

The Sacral or sex chakra governs our reproductive organs, our sexual desires, our creativity, including all projects and business ventures we are creating, and our relationship with our children.

It can be quite easy to spot people with big healthy sex chakras, they tend to be people with a lot of charisma, who walk in a room and own it, people who love performing. But this is not always the case, more introverted people can also have very healthy large sacral chakras but be using them to create in different ways.

Problems from blocked sacral chakra

  • Low libido
  • Lack of joy
  • Creative blocks
  • Feeling unattractive
  • Urinary infections
  • Difficulty conceiving

The good news is just like getting fitter by working out, we can improve our chakras by working with them. Focusing on one chakra a week and repeating the releases and affirmations can make a noticeable difference. And working with an energetic healer, will help get to the root cause and make lasting improvements

The Base Chakra is key to our success here on earth, we need a strong powerful base in order to make traction in our lives, to be fit and healthy and happy living in the physical world.

The base chakra governs our relationship with our family of origin, our tribe, our security, home and finances, as well as our energy levels.

If you are struggling in any of these areas, chances are something is going on in your base chakra.

One of the best ways to improve your base chakra is to practise the tree rooting exercise several times every day for 40 days.

I have a free video showing you how to do this

And try using the release commands and affirmations, particularly any that resonate, on a daily basis

We are all born with different chakra configurations, these are based on our karma (or previous life experience), and that is why no 2 babies are the same, along with other biological and phycological reasons.

In order to lead an easy great life, we want big clean chakras, big chakras on their own are not enough, that’s a bit like getting on a thoroughbred horse when you don’t know how to ride! And while we all have different chakras, the good news we can all improve and change our chakras and our energy body. The best way to do this is to work with a qualified and experienced energy healer. Regular 1-2-1 sessions allow for rapid transformation.
