Why work on ourselves? The most obvious answer is so that we can lead more fulfilling joyful lives, but I also believe that this work is very important to our soul. We are creative empowered beings, and the inner work we do, allows us to fully shine. Unlike the wealth we accumulate that can’t go with us to the next life, the inner work we do, the love we cultivate can. So, working on ourself, helps us, those around us and our future lives! Which is why I am passionate about helping people do the work with ease and grace, love and joy.

The Light work
When people talk about the light, light being or being a Light worker, what do they actually mean?
Everything in creation is made up of light and sound vibration, and everything holds a different vibration. There is a scale of vibration where light beings such as angels will be near the higher end of the spectrum.
Of course. when connecting with spirit it is important that we are connecting with unconditional love, and light beings. There are many beings that live in the astral field and not all have our highest good at heart.
Examples of light beings are:
Angels, Saints, Ascended Masters, Gods and Goddesses, Sages, Rishes, and Holy people, Wisdom Keepers, Ancestors, Spiritual teachers and any being that has reached a certain level of consciousness. However there maybe beings that fit into these categories that are not unconditionally loving.
While it is important that we recognise a light being, other beings may have their own agenda. It is important that we look beyond the dark, for all humans in all of creation have light and dark within them. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be here on earth. (There are a few exceptions to this, but out of the 8 billion people on earth, I would guess this is less than 100.)

The Dark Side
At this time we are living in an age called the Kali-Yuga where the vibration of humanity, and mass consciousness is pretty low. Most people blame others for their problems, most people feel a lot of shame, and our primary desire is material wealth and success. In this age it’s very hard to live in a vibration of love and peace. We may experience these things but to have this as a resting vibration takes a lot of work, not because we are inherently bad, but because our environment plays a big part in our vibration, perhaps bigger than most of us realise.
As a healer who can perceive beings, both light (angels, aspects of the divine, our guides etc.) and dark (demons, entities etc.) many clients come to see me to rid themselves of these dark attachments. I feel blessed to be able to clear entities and beings that are preventing people leading lovely lives.
However. it is not possible to only work on ourself in this way. There are times when it is appropriate to work with the dark. The work is nuanced, and after many years of working with clients I understand the importance of weaving our darkness with the light, so that we may begin the journey of becoming enlightened or golden.
The light we seek is everything we have told ourselves is good; it is the parts we own that fit the story of who we want to be. The good mother, the successful business women, the kind father, the compassionate manager, the healer, etc.
Everything in creation (on the physical plane) has both light and dark, there is a natural polarity. There is big and small, light and dark, and the same is true with our emotions, happy and sad, peaceful and angry etc. In order to know one, there must be the opposite.
If we only accept the light, we are not whole, we are not really evolving.

Spiritual By-Passing
On the spiritual path, it is easy to be caught out by bypassing. This can be done in so many ways and it’s a tricky slippery slope, whether it’s through the use of meditation, plant medicine, or spiritual arrogance, we can believe we don’t have to do the weaving, the work here on earth.
It is not easy to accept the dark, the parts of ourself we have disowned, but this is where the real juice lies. The dark we hide from often hold the keys to our greatest gifts. For me, my awakening started after a huge heart break, the end of a marriage and a successful career coming to an end.
These huge cracks in the life we have identified with, help us to see the light and dark, and to churn through the pain, the shame and the fear.
And we have opportunities to churn and to weave in our daily lives (we don’t have to go through a dark night of the soul every time we grow). All we need to do is look at our lives and see where there is not love, where there is pain, suffering, blame, shame, fear, or anger, and when these opportunities arise, we use these to grow, and learn to recognise these states as opportunities for growth, rather than pushing them away and pretending we are good, and that the problem is with others. We need to own the dark in us.

The Gold
For me it was the soul searching, the healing, the depths of the pain experienced, and the going through the dark night of the soul which has led to liberation.
And this was not a one off; every time I find more darkness to liberate, there is more joy and golden light on the other side.
As a spiritual aspirant and teacher, this is my life work, churning the light and dark into gold.
If I (or any of us) skip this part then we miss out on the gifts. For me, these gifts have made me who I am today, a healer with a huge heart who is here on earth to help others.
Are You Ready to Weave the Gold?
If you are serious about evolving and growing, if you want to become the golden light of your soul, then working with a spiritual teacher is the best thing you can do. One way to find your teacher is to pray in your heart that you find the right teacher for you, and watch as the universe shows you the way.
